sheesh.
though i imagine it's a relatively easy thing to recover from. they have Dreamhost, who are really helpful with things like that. (we also go through Dreamhost)
i don't know why every time i hear about a site getting hacked, it's always turkish hackers, possibly the same people, i don't know. i wouldn't be surprised if it happened to us, too. i don't really give a fuck, though.

hackers have got to be, without doubt, the single lamest contingent of computer users worldwide. they NEVER do anything remotely clever or interesting with it.

They do, it's just that it never becomes known to the general public. The guys that do pentesting get ignored. All computer security people are essentially hackers.
I'm a hacker. I help keep sites like xlt safe from attack. I don't do defacement. When I have done hacking without the permission of my victims, it was for the purposes of learning, not for idiot defacement. I didn't destroy anything, I didn't delete anything, I didn't put huge letters on index.html say "HACKED BY HYPERFUKBOT LOLS LOLOS".
The best ones never will be noticed. Ever.

yeah, the Turkish ones seem to be ones that do all that lame-ass website defacement bullshit, I dunno why that is.
